K8 (also known as K8 entertainment group) is a network of international online casinos and gambling companies, with over 15 million users. Sponsorships[edit]
K8 was the main partner and sponsor for Kunlun fighting,[8] a Chinese MMA event. Internationally, they are most well-known for their football sponsorships, they also appointed German footballer, Michael Ballack as brand ambassador from 2015 to 2016, which coincided with their sponsorship of German football team FC Schalke 04. [9]
In 2015, the online entertainment company became a sponsor of the Copa America in Chile, the third largest continental football event in the world.[10]
In 2016, K8 became the kit sponsor for the West Bromwich Albion FC, a Premier League football team. This became the football team’s biggest sponsorship to date, which reportedly cost K8 over £5 million.[11] The partnership was mostly used as a marketing strategy to bring awareness to the European extension of the K8 group; UK-K8. [12][13] The sponsorship deal lasted only one season.
June 21st 2017, K8 announced a sponsorship agreement with Premier League club Manchester City. The multi-year deal includes advertisements on digiboards at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, and the right to offer trips and experiences to the public to meet the team.[14][15][16][17]
September 26th 2017, K8 announced a sponsorship agreement with Championship club, Cardiff City. The multi-year deal includes betting booths at Cardiff City Stadium, and the right to offer trips, tickets and experiences to the public to meet the team.[18]
Controversies[edit]
K8 is part of the recurring theme of increasingly larger numbers of gambling companies sponsoring Premier League teams.[19] In the 16/17 season, more than 50% of sponsorship shares were held by betting companies,[20] K8 being amongst one of them. Also including their competitors, Dafabet and Bet365. Many were skeptical of K8's decision to sponsor Manchester City FC, due to the UK government's decision to review the gambling sector, to prevent over exposure to gambling, and to prevent the increasing number of gambling addiction. which has increased by 0.3% over the past three years. [21]
On the same day that K8 signed as a sponsor[22] for Manchester City, UK's Football Association announced that it will end all partnerships with betting companies, in light of recent betting incidents[23] and to combat addictions.[24]

A Kensington Security Slot (also called a K-Slot or Kensington lock) is part of an anti-theft system designed in the early 1990s[1] and patented by Kryptonite in 1999–2000,[2] assigned to Schlage in 2002, and since 2005 owned and marketed by Kensington Computer Products Group, a division of ACCO Brands.[3]

The system consists of a small, metal-reinforced hole found commonly on small or portable computers and electronics equipment such as laptops, computer monitors, desktop computers, gaming consoles, and video projectors, combined with a metal anchor attached to a rubberized metal cable secured with a key or combination lock. The end of the cable has a small loop that allows the cable to be looped around a permanent object, such as a heavy table or other similar equipment.[2]

The hole is found in most laptops, although a lock for it is typically not included. Occasionally, the slot is located so that installing a lock will also prevent the removal of a valuable subcomponent, such as a rechargeable battery or a memory module. The Kensington slot may be marked with a small icon that looks like a padlock with a capital 'K', or the slot may be unlabelled.
Security[edit]
Kensington locks are not designed to be an impervious protection measure.[3] Because most computer equipment cases are generally made of plastic or thin metal, the lock can be torn out, though not without doing significant visible damage to the case. The cable itself can be cut if an individual has a wire cutter or bolt cutter sufficiently strong to cut through the cable material, which will vary between different brands of cable. The Kensington type locks are useful to discourage quick grab-and-run thefts of equipment from casually supervised locations such as coffee shops, but cannot prevent the removal of equipment secured in an unattended location.
The key is often a cylindrical type, but there are versions which use a traditional flat key. There are also versions of the lock that use a numeric combination instead of a key.[3]

Several manufacturers offer similar locking mechanisms that do not require a special lock hole.[4] They attach to a popular port, such as the VGA or printer port, and have special screws to secure locks in place.
